Dr. Lise Fox will provide an overview of how states use policy as an important lever to address concerns about the suspension and expulsion of young children from early care and education programs. She will describe how states have responded to the use of exclusionary discipline, the importance of policy in addressing this complex problem, and promising practices for strengthening the capacity of early childhood programs to meet the education, care, and behavior needs of all children.
